Priyadarshini & Rajiv Great Indian Leaders https://jawaharbalmanch.org/priyadarshini-rajiv-great-indian-leaders/ Sat, 22 Jul 2023 07:40:27 +0000 https://jawaharbalmanch.org/?p=989890 One of the most remarkable women leaders in world history… one of the most powerful leaders India has seen… the first woman prime minister of India – Thus, Indira Gandhi holds a heroic place in the history of India. Indira Priyadarshini was born during a significant period of Indian independence struggle. She was born on 19 November 1917 to Jawaharlal Nehru, who was at the forefront of the struggle and Kamala Nehru. Being from a family that was constantly involved in the freedom struggle, Indira did not experience much closeness from her Jawaharlal Nehru or her grandfather Motilal Nehru. It can be said that she grew up alone with her mother Kamala Nehru, who was suffering from many illnesses. It was her grandfather Motilal Nehru’s wish that his grand daughter should get the best education available in India. So, Indira was sent to a British-run school St. Cecilia for her primary education. However, there was a rule that the children of the Congress members should not study in schools run by the British Raj due to which Indira was unable to continue her education.

Indira Gandhi The Former Prime Minister of India https://jawaharbalmanch.org/indira-gandhi-the-former-prime-minister-of-india/ Sat, 22 Jul 2023 07:35:54 +0000 https://jawaharbalmanch.org/?p=989866 Indira Priyadarshini- the great daughter of a great father. If Nehru was one of the chief architects of modern India, it was Indira Gandhi who made India capable enough to stand tall among the world nations. Indira Gandhi led India in the most tumultuous and complicated era that the nation was stuck in, a! er the death of Nehru, whom we lovingly call “Chachaji.” On one hand, she had to continue the war that Nehru had started against socio-economic issues like poverty, famines, infl ation, and unemployment. On the other, she had to deal with internal clashes and the a! ermaths of the wars of 1965 and 1971. Plans like “Garibi Hatao” for eradicating poverty, bankgeneral insurance nationalization, ruling out ‘privy purse,’ the green and white revolutions, and various other measures to strengthen the public sector, were all symbols of the intelligent leadership that she had showcased. It is her able management that transformed India from the position of borrowing grains from the USA for its children’s mid-day meals to a large-scale exporter of food grains and products.

Rajiv Gandhi:A Great Visionary https://jawaharbalmanch.org/rajiv-gandhia-great-visionary/ Sat, 22 Jul 2023 07:35:26 +0000 https://jawaharbalmanch.org/?p=989865 The life of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhiji is an awe-inspiring one. Let us have a glance at that extraordinary life. He can be described as the maker of modern India.
It was under his golden leadership that India walked into modernity, through computerization and the development of the digital realm, thus reshaping the face of the nation forever. His rise as the undisputed leader of a populace of seven hundred million was indeed commendable. !ough he came from a family which served the Nation both pre and post-independence for four generations, he was least interested in indulging in active politics. But, once he was pressured to involve, we gained a proactive politician, and an able Prime Minister.

Sardar Patel lived an extra-ordinary life in extra-ordinary times. For his iron will and nerves of steel, he earned the title Iron Man of India. For his astute leadership and compassion, his people lovingly called him Sardar. The geographic entity we know as India, bears the imprint of the genius and statesmanship of this one man. It is the most lasting legacy Patel left for the future. ‘History’, said Nehru speaking about Sardar Patel, would ‘call him the builder and consolidator of the new India.’

Develop and Hone the Literary Skills

Literary activities can play a vital role in the development of a child’s creative and artistic growth. The children need to be exposed to fine literature in the form of long and short stories.

Riddles Games

A game designed to encourage the inquisitiveness in children. The children should develop into owners of hundreds of such riddles and their answers. The children would be divided into groups and competitions be held. The teams could collect as many riddles as possible and each team gets the opportunity to ask its question when the give a correct answer.

This is a fun filled educative. A person who would carry his principles even in adverse situations. Going forward the child learns to explain his actions, his motives behind and expectations. He learns to be responsible for his actions and be capable of giving the reply to pointed questions. He may also detail something that he is interested in. The next step would be to give short and crisp speeches on topics of his choice and take questions pertaining to them.

Proverb Games

Just as effective as the riddles game is the proverbs game. The children could counter the proverbs that are quoted by the earlier performer. That too in quick succession. The group that loses the thread loses points. Some of the proverbs have stories attached to them and it would be an ideal chance to tell this story too.

Story Telling Competition

This an art form that has seen better days. It involves, storytelling, singing and drama. An art form that was in great demand in the past decades. This art form could play a great role in the learning of literary works  This could play a days when on the laps or your grandparents you heard a hundreds of stories, igniting beautiful  pictures in your mind. Today’s child is at a serious disadvantage here. Jawahar Bal Manch tries to offset this by introducing story telling as an activity. The stories told should be of the kind that ignite imagination in the tender minds of the children.

The stories should be of a positive bend with high moral values and should be confidence building ones in the young minds. The source of these stories could be local Folklores, Panchatantra Stories, Science Fiction or true science stories, Aesop’s Fables, Fairy tales or stories of Magic and Miracles. It would be ideal if the narrator could add a bit of  drama and voice and each team gets the opportunity to ask its question when the give a correct answer. This is a fun filled and educative game that encourages lateral thinking. This widens the spectrum of the child’s thinking.

Story Telling

Every child love sorties. However, gone are those days when on the laps of your grandparents you heard a hundreds of stories, igniting beautiful pictures in you mind.

Poetic Gatherings

Poetry contains stories, music and morals. These things attract children and act as beacon lights to them. The presentation of poetry in a gathering ought to be with a purpose highlighted. The children can collect poetry that pertains to such topics and can be presented at the venue. Eg: Avani Padam (Oru Thai Nadumbol) by ONYV, Kuyilum Minnaminungum by Shankara Kurup, Vazhakkula by Changampuzha, Puthappattu by Edassery, Kunjunni Kathakal etc. There should be at least one such gathering for the children every month. The children should also be encouraged stage, at public venues. The various venues to perform this could be the Annual functions, Monthly meetings, Balalokam Program in All India Radio and another public gathering.

Factual Stories

Drilling in information into a child’s brain through boring and exhausting classes is not the ideal way to education a child. it is not to say that classes are not to say that classes are not needed. However it would be best practice to give the information in the form of stories they are likely to remember and to a level relate to. This is what is meant by the term Factual Stories. It would be a great idea to inject the information as easily digestible capsules There is no point in trying to pretend oneness with the children by calling the friends at the beginning and end of classes.

It would be idea if the children were made a part of the going on activates and be made to take active and e made to take active role in the illustrations etc. should be encouraged. This is designed in a way that will not bore the children. Moreover the children are likely to imbibe the information in fullness and in the correct spirit sense. A rough estimate of how many topics and be thus cleared should be taken. It may also have visitors to deliver the classes too.
